
Course Description
This degree in finance and investment banking is designed to develop your financial knowledge and help you get ahead in today's global business environment. Modules include corporate finance, investment management, quantitative analysis and accounting, so you'll gain the practical skills and understanding you need to deal with international finance issues.
The course has been accepted into the CFA Institute University Recognition Program. We have strong links with the City and businesses in Canary Wharf, offering our students great networking, mentoring and internship opportunities in finance and investment banking. Course Content
Year 1
Students are required to study the following compulsory modules.
- Introduction to Financial Accounting (30 credits)
- Introduction to Management Accounting (30 credits)
- Personal and Professional Development 1 (Accounting) (15 credits)
- Quantitative Methods (15 credits)
- Introduction to Finance and Economics (30 credits)
Year 2
Students are required to study the following compulsory modules.
- Banking: Principles, Practice and Regulation (30 credits)
- Managing Business Finance (30 credits)
- Financial Markets, Instruments and Institutions (30 credits)
Students are required to choose 30 credits from this list of options.
- Taxation (30 credits)
- FinTech Fundamentals (30 credits)
- Business and Company Law (30 credits)
Year 3
Students are required to study the following compulsory modules.
- International Corporate Finance (30 credits)
- Investment Management (30 credits)
- Quantitative Research Methods (15 credits)
- Quantitative Finance Research Project (15 credits)
Students are required to choose 30 credits from this list of options.
- Ethics and Corporate Governance (30 credits)

Entry Requirements
120 UCAS points from A-levels, including two at grade C. No more than 12 points should come from AS-levels.
GCSE mathematics at grade B / 5 or above and English language or literature at grade C / 4 or above.

Assessment Methods
Each course has formal assessments which count towards your grade. Some courses may also include ‘practice’ assessments, which help you monitor progress and do not count towards your final grade.
