
Course Description
The Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) is an internationally recognised master's degree in business administration and management.
Our MBA aims to develop the business leaders of the future. It approaches responsible leadership from the starting points of creativity, practicality and social resourcefulness.
The MBA focuses on your personal development, including your career management. You will look at the integrative disciplines of business strategy and the management of change, leading to a real-world consultancy project and an individual business project.
The course has recently been restructured in collaboration with employers and professional bodies.
Specialist MBA awards
The Greenwich MBA can be tailored to four specialist sectors:
- Financial Services (including banking and insurance)
- Public Services (including health, local government and emergency services)
- Social Enterprise
- Maritime.
On successful completion, you will graduate with one of the following:
- Executive Master of Business Administration
- Executive Master of Business Administration (Financial Services)
- Executive Master of Business Administration (Public Services)
- Executive Master of Business Administration (Maritime)
- Executive Master of Business Administration (Social Enterprise)
Flexible learning
Full-time
Students of all nationalities can study the MBA in London at our Greenwich Campus over a 12-month period.
Home students wishing to gain a PGDip Management should apply for the Executive MBA (by supported open learning) and request an exit award after earning 120 credits.
Part-time and distance learning by supported open learning
If you choose to study part-time, you can complete the degree over 2 or 3 years (with the flexibility to switch your plan at the start of your second year). This supports individuals who are working full-time and need to balance study with work and home commitments.
Supported open learning uses a variety of methods. Self-study is supported by evening workshops on-campus and online webinars. It is open to home students (UK and EU), who can complete in up to three years.

Outcomes
This degree will help you to:
- Understand current business issues, how organisations work, and the place of organisations in the business world.
- Address current issues in business and management through leading-edge research and practice.
- Acquire and evaluate data, then synthesise a range of information for new situations.
- Apply relevant knowledge to a range of complex situations, taking account of how this relates to other areas of a business or organisation.
Entry Requirements
You should have an undergraduate degree at 2.2 or above, or equivalent qualification, from a recognised university or higher education institute.
You should also have a minimum of two years' relevant work experience.
Applicants without an undergraduate degree who have a minimum of five years' relevant business experience may apply subject to interview.
If you were educated in a language other than English and/or in a country where English speakers are in a minority, you should have a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill) or equivalent.
If you require a Tier 4 (General) student visa to study in the UK, your score must be from a UK Visas and Immigration approved IELTS test.
Alternatively, students with an overall IELTS of 5.0 or 5.5 can study our Pre-Sessional English language programme prior to degree studies.
